Scoot Science on CBC Radio

February 2, 2022 - Scoot Science Chief Investment Officer Grant Cavanaugh was featured on CBC's The Broadcast. Grant spoke about our ocean forecasting and data management work with salmon farmers in Canada and Norway. Scoot's SeaState dashboard provides advance warning and helps with operational decision making when extreme ocean events inevitably occur.

Grant also described how we've applied what we've learned from SeaState to build next generation insurance policies and financing tools, namely the SeaVest model. SeaVest uses knowledge about the underlying ocean and the way salmon farms operate to model the impact of ocean risks on profitability and sustainability in the sector.
